Which Bed Size is Best For Me?
Choosing the best bed size can be a daunting task. There are a few things to consider such as mattress dimensions, what you intend to use it for and how much space you have in your room. While we’re confident Winkl mattresses area a good fit, here are a few tips to help you choose the perfect bed size.
Single Mattress
Single Bed Size: 92 x 188cm
Room Size: We recommend a minimum room size of 2.1 x 2.7m for a single bed. But if you intend to add furniture either side we recommend a 2.4 x 3.0m
Suitable For: Single mattresses are perfect for your childs first bed, bunks or rooms with very limited space. They also suit single sleepers.
King Single Mattress
King Single Bed Size: 107 x 203cm
Room Size: We recommend a minimum room size of 2.4 x 3.0m for a king single bed. They will work in rooms as narrow as 2.1m without furniture.
Suitable For: The longer cousin of the Single mattress, a King Single size is great for teens or taller kids, dorm rooms, lone rangers and limited space.
Double Mattress
Double Bed Size: 138 x 188cm
Room Size: We recommend a minimum room size of 3.0 x 3.3m to comfortably fit a double bed.
Suitable For: Young adults or kids without space limitations. A double is not recommended for couples who like space or share with pets and kids.
Queen Mattress
Queen Bed Size: 152 x 203cm
Room Size: We recommend a minimum room size of 3.0 x 3.6m for a queen bed. Especially if you need room for furniture, washing baskets and other bits.
Suitable For: The queen bed size is New Zealands most popular. Perfect for just about everyone including couples and solo adults that love to spread out.
King Mattress
King Bed Size: 168 x 203cm
Room Size: We recommend a room size of 3.4 x 3.6m for a king-size bed.
Suitable For: Couples that like starfishing together! You’ll also be fine with a fur baby or two jumping aboard.
Super King Mattress
Super King Bed Size: 183 x 203cm
Room Size: We recommend a room size of 3.6x 3.6m for a king-size bed.
Suitable For: Couples that regularly share their bed with kids and pets wondering in during the night.
California King Mattress
California King Bed Size: 203 x 203cm
Room Size: You’ll need a spacious room for a California king-size bed. We recommend a minimum of 3.6 x 3.6m
Suitable For: Just about anything. This is the bed that fits it all. The kids, the Great Dane and the six-foot tall couple. It even doubles as a cosy home office.
